At a higher point in his career, Putilov was a deputy director of Surgut drilling operation, as well as he headed Krasnoleninsk and Urai’s management of drilling operations. Also serving as the President of state-owned oil company Rosneft, from 1993 to 1998, he went on to become appointed as a special representative of British Petroleum / Amoco in the oil company Sidanko. It was in 2004 that he joined Alexander Dzhaparidze in the formation of a drilling company now called Eurasia Drilling. Eventually, Mr. Putilov became the largest shareholder of Eurasia Drilling, following a sudden sell-out of Dzhaparidze’s 22% stake.
